You'll notice some strangeness, if you're looking for a visit to nostalgia memory lane, especially to shotguns. They changed the Bobbleheads, which is hit or miss depending on how you feel about it, but in my opinion that's an improvement considering New Vegas allows you to buy implants that increase your SPECIAL anyway, and being able to gain +2 to each stat for free across the game would be somewhat overpowered, especially since the "Almost Perfect" perk exists anyway. You don't HAVE to (ab)use this oversight, it doesn't detract from the game in any way, but holy hell is in unbalanced. Whereas you can only get one Alien Blaster usually (probably two if you count the one from the Mojave) the reward matches the fact you're giving up a unique weapon, but you easily come across 100+ Atomizers and at least 33+ Distintegrators from killed aliens, not to mention like 25+ Drone us if you keep Elliot alive, he'll give you a new random weapon once every few days. That's just one example I can think of, but there's a lot. 50 BMG rounds, or 20 stimpaks / radaway / hydra, etc. There's some major balance issues in regards to some of the DLC and items though, in particular you can trade the Alien Atomizer, Alien Disintegrator and Alien Drone Cannons from the Mothership Zeta DLC to the Brotherhood Outcasts as if you were trading an Alien Blaster, for the full reward - adjusted for this mod, it means each weapon is worth 126. It spices up Fallout 3 a bit by the addition of companion perks and the wheel from New Vegas (most Fallout 3 companion perks suck except Sergeant RL-3's though) No more hunting for Recon armour to repair the Chinese Stealth armour, nope you can just patch it up with some wasteland rags somehow now, yay! Another thing I noticed was they added a blueprint to convert Energy Cells into Mesmatron ammo.that's really nice! No more spending 200 caps for 10 shots, and it makes using it viable in the Mojave too! It's certainly fun if you ever wondered what having certain Fallout 3 items in New Vegas would feel like - I.E functional Chinese Stealth Armour, the Combat Shotgun, Enclave armour etc.ĭamn does it feel good to have access to Jury Rigging in the Capital Wasteland though, let me tell you. Otherwise the limited quality of life mod support and the weird balance issues kinda makes it an oddball experience. I would only recommend it over the vanilla Fallout 3 experience, though.
